This compilation is a part of Motown's Anthology Series, released in 1995. It was accompagnied by a 20 page booklet that inclued an essay by David Ritz, entitled "Michael : Solo And Soulful". Content is very similar to, but significantly different from, Michael's 1986 Anthology release. There are the same songs, in the same running order, but with an additional four songs : Greatest Show On Earth, We've Got A Good Thing Going, Make Tonight All Mine and Cinderella Stay Awhile .

Another bonus is the restoration of the original mixes of several songs recorded in the early 1970s, but not released until the 1980s. Four songs - Call On Me, Don't Let It Get You Down, Melodie and To Make My Father Proud come minus the overdubbs added to 1984's Farewell My Summer Love release, while another three songs feature slightly different alternate vocals : If I'N Was God, Love's Gone Bad and Make Tonight All Mine . If I'N Was God, here, is also a full minute longer than the version issued in 1986 on Lookin' Back To Yesterday.

Un autre bonus est la restauration des mixages originaux de plusieurs chansons enregistrées au début des années 70, mais resté dans les archives jusqu'au milieu des années 80. Quatre titres - Call On Me, Don't Let It Get You Down, Melodie et To Make My Father Proud, sont proposés sans le mix additionnel paru sur l'album Farewell My Summer Love, trois autres chansons sont en revanche incluses avec des paroles légèrement différentes : If I'N Was God, Love's Gone Bad et Make Tonight All Mine . If I'N Was God est aussi plus long d'une minute par rapport à la première version parue sur Lookin' Back To Yesterday en 1986.
